So Buster Posey, and Jason Heyward are protected since they have less than six years of 130+ AB and were not drafted in 09. Do I have it? yes I believe so. Also, as neither have reached the 130 AB plateau in any season, they could both be protected as 1st Year players at a cost of $0.3m each.

Question: If a prospect was traded last year, then they're under the control of the team they were traded to, right? So as the Cards' GM, I don't get control over a guy like Perez? I noticed the Giants GM had Barnes listed under his prospects and was wondering if we could do that, since Barnes was traded to Cleveland..

Any player who has been traded belongs to their new team so Perez would not belong to you. Question about the draft: International players who were signed in July 2009 and later will be in the player draft, right?

It is in the rules that any player from this most recent signing period is eligible to be drafted. Examples of players eligible would be Miguel Angel Sano, and Wagner Mateo (since he was eligible to be signed this period)

Just want to say this sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get steamrolled. IDK much about the super young prospects. Study time!

I wouldn't worry too much about prospect knowledge. Remember, there's going to be A LOT of players that are current major leaguers available as free agents due to service time. So there's a lot of potential out there.

Quick question: how are the stats gonna be tracked? Is there a system (similar to like a yahoo or espn fantasy thing), or are we just doing it ourselves?

If we have one player who we roster as a prospect, will we be able to use him as a player in the 2010 season?

Yeah any prospect can be added to your MLB roster at any time.
