Sorry for not having info on the tag up, I just added it into the league rules. Yes you would be able to keep him on your roster as a 5th year player.

why will our first draft consist of so many years of players? mlb doesn't draft 5 years out. if someone is 2013 eligible, should that be when they get drafted? maybe i'm just misunderstanding what you wrote.

No your correct. If we do a deep draft like this it allows people to draft a wider variety of players to build their team to their own style and choice.

Are we going to do the draft before we deal with the free agents? Just curious.
How are we going to list off the free agents when that time comes as well? Interested in how we are going to handle that...

Draft is before free agents. Not sure how I want to handle free agents yet.

what if a guy on our prospects list is picked in the rule-5, or released from the 40-man? or traded this offseason?

Alright, after the World Series is done the rosters will freeze. So any player traded, dropped, waived, will still remain on your roster in our league.

Just to clarify if you franchise a player and trade them, you cannot assign another player your franchise tag.

Another follow-up on service time. If I am understanding correctly, there should be no players who are salaried at "1st year" unless they will qualify for rookie status in 2010. Correct?

Correct, for example on the Orioles Brian Matusz is a rookie next year and will be in the roation for the Orioles. Therefor I have him on my MLB roster in his first year.

I'm confused on the 130 AB service year rule. Does a player have to have 130 ABs to qualify as a year, or it he has 130 ABs one year and then his clock is started afterwards. Like lets say a player is brought up, gets 150 ABs, then the next year he is kept in the minors, then 350 ABs the next. Does that just count as 2 years or as 3?

That would count as 2 years.

Quick question. If we simply don't want a player with 6 or less years of service time, we can just leave them off. Correct?

Yeah. Than they will just become a free agent. Once we start free agency that player will be eligible
