This league will keep going, we have at least 10 loyal members, even during the middle of the season. In my experience, leagues that get action in the off-season tend to die down during the season, and then come back to life in the off-season. Simply said, there are many more leagues during the year.
However, we need to look at the scoring categories for next season. My team is 8-2. I haven't been starting hitters for a month and a half. I didn't mean to do that, I forgot what email address I used for ESPN. But that is ridiculous. That should not be possible.
I love my prospects, I love my team, and moving forward I think this league can work.

I agree on changing the categories. I'm all for a 7-7 type league, 7 hitting, 7 pitching..... Including wins and batting average. We'll keep it going. I'm sure some of us have baseball nerd friends (Like me) that we could get involved in the league to keep it going.

We might need to take a look at the rules and categories, but I think this league will keep going. I hate batting average as a stat though

Completely agree. We'll have to work on the rules, but I think this was fine for an inaugral season. It is difficult to get 30 owners who want to participate for a whole year. I still really like the concept of the 30 team dynasty so I will do everything I can to keep it alive.

im commited. you will have a high turnover rate, the trick is getting a few people to run it. eventually you will have less and less turnover.

I think we can keep it going too. I'm committed, and would be willing to help with some of the offseason stuff, and I think we can get other owners to do the same. I'm also on board with taking a look at changing the scoring categories and the league rules.

I am still in; like this format a lot in terms of the dynasty. Bit surprised there has not been more trade deadline action but I am swamped at work so I should not complain.

I'm in as well.
I would also suggest having draft classes that match up with the classes in real life rather than having the option of drafting future picks. Otherwise it dilutes the pool for future years and makes draft picks less valuable IMHO.

I'd also like us to adopt some sort of drop function so that teams can get rid of bad contracts. We all make mistakes.
So, one of the things I'd actually suggested before was some kind of release system where you can drop players but at a penalty that gets subtracted from your cap (I'd suggest adding the option to pay the fine at multiple percentages of the total salary - 75% of it over two years or 50% for the remainder of the contract - something like that).
That way, even if people make a mistake (I myself have made some - Zambrano and Pena) the league stays competitive and the owners still pay a penalty for their mistake.

I think Jays brings up some interesting ideas here, at some point later this season or in the offseason I think we as a league should set up some discussion threads for ideas like this (as well as scoring categories) and come to some sort of agreement or vote on what to change.
It would be best if we had someone as a commissioner for this however, since we'd need someone to have the final say for these sorts of things.

I have been acting commisioner for the AL and the Rockies have for the NL. I just messaged him yesterday about some of the things we are planning. I hope we can open some discussion threads after the regular season. Priority number one is going to be how to fix the draft in terms of limiting rounds and what to do with traded picks. I really like matching up the draft class if that gets support, but the previously mentioned things would need to be discussed amongst the league (rounds and picks).

ah good, I wasn't sure if you guys were stepping in as interim/permanant commisioners or just keeping an eye on the espn leagues. good to hear, and of course thanks for stepping up and taking on the responsibility.
