Have a couple of questions...
1 - How do we start out (in terms of players)? I see the international players, but are we starting with a full player draft, or do we start with all the players in a system, etc?
2 - What site is it run on? Yahoo, ESPN, etc..?

You can roster all players with less than 6 years of MLB experience. Everyone with more time than that is elegible for free agency which we will hold later. Not sure what site yet.

So, as an example:
C.C. Sabathia could not be rostered because he has over 6 years service time, even though he's under a contract right now.
Brett Anderson could be rostered because he doesn't have 6 years service time.
Am I also safe in assuming that to roster them before free agency, they have to already be in my real-life organization?

Yes but you have a 10million dollar franchise tag you can place on one player with more than 6 years. And yes right now you can only roster players in your real organization

How large is the active roster? If I am reading your example correctly, it looks like 26? or is it 25?

No limit. But try to keep around 30 at most

Service time (if I am noticing it correctly) is what next year will be. Seeing from your roster, I see Markakis is under a 5th year contract, due to having 4 seasons of 130+ ab.
Is that a fair assumption?

Correct.

What about players who are really free agents, but have less than 6 years of service time under the 130AB/25appearances/50IP rule? Say for me, both Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano WILL be FAs (but are still currently on my 25 and 40 man) and each only have 5 years of service time. Can I retain them as 6th year players?

Question on the franchise tag...is it a yearly, fluctuating thing or does it stick until you take off? Meaning, can you franchise someone this year and then someone different next year?
Thanks

Braves- yes you can keep them even if they will be free agents in real life. Yankees- I think we will have it next year but you don't be able to do the same person that you did this year

Can you explain the basics about franchise tag? I didn't see it in the rules, just mentioned here in the questions.

Follow-up on the Braves Q - Justin Duchscherer only has 4 years that meet the qualifications of a service year, but is a free agent. Would I be able to keep him on my roster as a 5th year player?
