I'm in my fifth year running a league that has a similar concept to this one - pick one of the 30 MLB teams, then trade and sign free agents to try and win a Yahoo fantasy league. One key difference is that it is not a keeper league. Each year we start over, and GMs pick a new team based on how they finished the previous season (winner picks first, etc). Because it's not a keeper league, minor league prospects do not figure prominently into the game. But also because it's not a keeper league, the league has much less danger of collapsing, and it has survived for a long time. Each year plenty of GMs return but lots of new ones join as well, and all are on fairly even footing. Rays GM from this league is in his third year playing the trading game. He is playing as the Braves this year, and I am playing as the Cardinals. Although we could fill out all the 30 teams, we do not do so, because most fantasy baseball sites only allow 20 managers. Thus we cap the league at about 20 teams, with the players from the remaining unchosen teams becoming free agents. The league is run on ProBoards, but every GM has an AIM screen name, and that is where most of the trade talk is done. If you don't have an AIM screen name it is easy to get one. If you're interested in playing, the league can be found at tradinggame2011.proboards.com . Read the rules and if you're interested, sign up! The following teams are all available: Orioles Indians Royals Tigers White Sox Angels Athletics Mariners Nationals Astros Brewers Cubs Pirates Dodgers Padres
