Traditional stats... like RBI? Runs scored? you mean the ones that dont actually indicate how good a player is? no, we shouldnt include those.

I'm with phillies on stats that favor a team not starting anyone. with the way the stats are set up right now you could potentially start one player for one day and win the offensive stats 3-2 if that guy has a good game.

Since we still don't have 7 batting stats (2 more), I am just going to throw some out there.
We could use at bats to cancel out those who will sit batters. The difference between using this for batters and pitchers is that pitchers already have a GS minimum for ERA so there isn't really a need to have something else cancel out walks.
The rest of the options are Runs Created, Pitches per Plate Appearance, Fielding Percentage, and the last resort is the traditional stats like RBI and R

I like the idea of runs created or pitches per plate appearance (although the latter is yet another rate stat). Fielding percentage is terrible for fantasy baseball because it varies so much from position to position. Also, it just sucks.

i think runs created is the best out of those stats. fielding % is BS and i agree about limiting rate stats. so where does that leave us for hitting stats?
AB, BA, BB, K, TB, RC (runs created) and net stealing?
only 1 rate stat and 1 stat that rewards benching (K's). what does everyone think about this?

I'll stand aside and let the league decide for the 7th stat, but the first 6 look like they will work.
Just so everyone can see the options if I missed one that you might want:
Most Common AVG Batting Average HR Home Runs R Runs Scored RBI Runs Batted In SB Stolen Bases SLG Slugging Pct OBP On Base Pct OPS On Base plus Slugging Pct TB Total Bases K Strikeouts* Other AB At Bats H Hits 2B Doubles 3B Triples XBH Extra Base Hits 1B Singles BB Walks IBB Intentional Walks HBP Hit by Pitch SAC Sacrifices RC Runs Created GWRBI Game Winning RBI CS Caught Stealing* SBN Net Stolen Bases GIDP Ground into Double Plays* PPA Pitches per Plate Appearance BTW Batter Team Win Fielding FC Fielding Chances PO Put Outs AST Assists OFAST Outfield Assists FPCT Fielding Pct E Errors* DPT Double Plays Turned
Maybe it has to come down to RBIs or something. I know some are against that, but if it is one stat I wonder how against the traditional stat you will still be. I don't care what we wind up choosing, but hopefully we can find something more suitable for the league.

The second issue, which we plan on dealing with, is the draft. One owner proposed that we only use the corresponding draft year for our draft. The only problem with this is that we already have 76 players drafted from the 2010 year.
My solution: This years draft will include all 2010 draftees that are signed. The draft will be limited to just 7 rounds due to a lack of players. Picks in round 8-10 that have been traded will be pushed to the year 2011. The 2011 draft will include 2011 selections (Minus the 26 who have already been selected) who sign plus all International IFA signings who sign between the 2010 and 2011 league drafts. This draft will again be 10 rounds. The 2012 draft will follow all rules of the 2011 draft with a change in the compensation system. An MLB like aproach will be taken. However picks may still be traded. If you trade your first rounder, then you are prohibited from signing an "A" free agent. If you trade your second rounder, but not your first, then you may sign just 1 "A" free agent, etc.
What does everyone think? I may trade the IFA system if people disagree. Compensation system too, but I think they would work well.
